Help Special Olympics by Being a Part of Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K Run/Walk
Save the date on Sunday, May 2 for the upcoming Fifth Annual Sallarulo’s Race for Champions to benefit Special Olympics Broward County (SOBC) which is now permanently housed on NSU’s main campus. Local Special Olympics athletes will be on hand to cheer on runners and present medals.
Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K Run/Walk was created by Paul Sallarulo, a member of the NSU Board of Trustees, to raise money for Special Olympics Broward County. In the past four years, the event has raised more than $1.6 million to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics.
This year organizers are hoping to raise an additional $700,000. These funds ensure that SOBC can continue to provide free athletic programs that enrich the lives and improve the confidence of more than 800 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The race begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 2 with check-in staring at 6:15 a.m. There are several ways to participate: be a sponsor, runner, walker or “virtual runner.”
