Singh Wins 115th Amateur Golf Championship of India
Nova Southeastern University men’s golfer Priyanshu Singh recently took home the title at the 115th Amateur Golf Championship of India.
Singh (So., Delhi, India) defeated Kshitj Naved Kaul 3&2 at the Classic Golf Resort in New Delhi for the championship. In individual play leading up to the final round, Singh shot a 70 (tying for second after the first day) and 72 (to tie for third) to move on. Then, in match play, he defeated three opponents in two days’ time to advance to the 36-hole finals.
The Shark sophomore, through 18 holes, led the final match wire-to-wire. He would fall behind, and still trailed after No. 12, but had birdies on three of the next four holes to clinch.
Singh and the Sharks return to the course to begin their spring schedule on Feb. 8-9, taking part in Florida Southern’s Matlock Invitational in Lakeland.
