SHSS Students Present at Graduate Students Conference at UMASS Boston
Graduate students from the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) were participants in the Graduate Student Conflict Resolution Conference at the University of Massachusetts Boston on Oct. 22-23. The conference theme was: “Conflict Studies: The New Generation of Ideas.”
The DCAR student presenters included:
Amy Melissa Guimond, whose topic was entitled: “A Split within the Anglican Communion: The Ordination of V. Gene Robinson, the First Openly Gay Non-Celibate Bishop.”
Kacey Vu Shap, whose topic was entitled: “Catharsis: The Clashes of the Selves, Analyzing the Functions of Genocide from the Bottom-Up.”
Heather Wellman, Lauren Marx, and Felice Shekar whose topic was entitled: “America’s Role in Genocide: Our Past, our Potential.”
Grace Onyema Okoye whose topic was entitled: “The Role of Face in Negotiation.”
Y. Elaine Stephens, whose topic was entitled, “An Examination of Identity, Violence, and Terror.”
