SHSS Students Form the Chinese Students and Scholars Association

Students in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) have started a new student association, The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA). The founder of the association is Milly Yin, a student in the master’s program in College Student Affairs (CSA) housed in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS). The faculty advisor is John Miller, Ph.D., faculty in SHSS.

According to Yin, the purpose of the association is to provide an opportunity for NSU international Chinese students and scholars at NSU to build connections with each other and to promote Chinese culture throughout NSU. Yin indicated that, “I am very excited to have this new association. It is the first NSU organization for Chinese students and scholars. I hope it will be a means to share our Chinese culture at NSU. In October we will host the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of our significant celebrations. As it gets closer we will extend an invitation for everyone to participate.”

The association is open to all NSU students. Last month members of the CSSA met to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The association has been recognized as an official student group. For further information please contact Milly Yin at my198@nova.edu
