SHSS Student named President-Elect of International Association for Public Participation
Larry Schooler, a student in the M.S. program in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been selected as the President-Elect for the U.S. affiliate of the International Association for Public Participation (iap2).
Since 2009, Schooler has worked with the City of Austin (Texas) as Community Engagement Consultant, and is the first person to hold the position. He is involved in collaboratively addressing community issues with the public and facilitating greater public participation in government. He was also a Public Policy Fellow at the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution in the School of Law at the University of Texas at Austin.
