SHSS Student Presents on the Role of Media in the Rwandan Genocide at UMASS Conference
Carlyn Jorgensen, doctoral candidate in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS,) gave a presentation at the University of Massachusetts Boston 10th Biennial Graduate Conference. The theme of the conference was “Conflict Studies and Global Governance: The New Generation of Ideas.” Jorgensen’s presentation was entitled: “The Role of the Media in the Rwandan Genocide.” The conference was held Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 2014.
In addition to pursuing her doctoral degree at NSU, Jorgensen holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Suffolk University and a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Western Illinois University.
