SHSS Student Presents at Georgetown University’s Conflict Resolution Conference
Jazmin Letamendi, M.S., a doctoral student in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), presented at Georgetown University’s Conflict Resolution Program Conference in Washington, DC. The conference theme was, “Managing Diversity in Divided Societies: Research and Practice.” Her presentation was entitled, “A Structural Violence Analysis of Latino/a Civil Rights Events from the 1960’s to 2000’s.” Letamendi’s co-presenter was Pamela Hernandez, M.S., a doctoral student at the University of Maryland’s College of Education.
In addition to pursing her doctoral degree in DCAR, Letamendi received her M.S. in College Student Affairs (CSA) from the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) in SHSS. She is employed at NSU’s Oceanographic Center as an Outreach/Graduate Student Center Supervisor and Peer Mentor Supervisor.
