SHSS Student Named Yawkey Internship Coordinator at Boston University
Lauren Soares, master’s candidate in NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS,) has been named the Yawkey Internship Coordinator in the Center for Career Development at Boston University. The Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program is a selective program designed to support student participation in unpaid internships at nonprofit organizations. The program provides a living allowance stipend to participating sophomores and juniors.
In her position, Soares develops and coordinates content, serves as a resource for students and employers, and supports participating students from the selection process through their internship completion.
Soares is completing her M.S. in the College Student Affairs (CSA) program in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) and will graduate in June. Prior to her new position, Soares was a graduate assistant for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement at NSU.
