SHSS Student Founds Organization to Foster Teen Leaders and Hosts Gala Event
Edwina A. Ward, graduate student in the Master of Arts in Cross-disciplinary Studies program in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), is the Founder and Executive Director of Leaders Recognizing Leaders, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the recognition and enhancement of teen and young adult leadership and community service.
On May 26, the organization hosted the Leaders Awards Gala at the Carolina Golf Club in Margate. The keynote speaker was Larry Calderon, Ed.D., NSU’s vice president for Community and Governmental Affairs. The gala recognized and honored youth leaders and the master of ceremonies was Marcus Washington, News Channel 5 reporter from Nashville, Tennessee.
