SHSS Launches New Program in National Security Studies and Kicks it off with FBI Event, May 18
The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) will commence its new Master of Science in National Security Affairs (NSA) in the Summer Term beginning on May 16. To kick off the commencement of this new degree program, NSA in collaboration with the FBI Miami Counterintelligence Strategic Partnership Program will present a training event on NSU’s main campus on May 18 featuring H. Melton is a military historian, author, and expert on clandestine devices and equipment. He is the author of several books on espionage and serves as an advisor to US intelligence agencies. Melton’s presentation is entitled: “The Role of Covert Technology in the Mumbai Attacks.”
The M.S. in National Security Affairs is a 33-credit program in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) and is designed to provide students with theoretical, research, and applied skills in the emerging academic field of national security affairs. In addition to core classes and electives, students will select one of four concentrations including: Cyber-terrorism and Security (in partnership with the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences); Criminal Justice (in partnership with the Criminal Justice Institute); International Relations and Global Affairs (at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences); or Homeland Security (at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences)
