SHSS to Host Workshop on “Peaceful Holidays: How to Create Family Peace at the Holidays,” Dec. 6
Community Resolution Services (CRS) at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) will host a workshop entitled, “Peaceful Holidays: How to Create Family Peace at the Holidays,” at the Alvin Sherman Library. The session will be held on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6:30-8:00 pm in room MR 4009.
The holidays are a wonderful time for family and friends to come together, but this time can also prove to be stressful and filled with conflict. This workshop will address how peaceful holidays can be created, how conflicts during the holidays can be anticipated and addressed and how this holiday season really can be different. The workshop will provide helpful tips for individuals and families. Presenters will include graduate students in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies at SHSS.
This workshop is designed for individuals and families and is offered as part of Peace Place and VOICES Family Outreach, two of the programs offered by SHSS’ Community Resolution Services (CRS). CRS offers a variety of services to the local community including facilitation, conflict coaching, workshops, and training to organizations, families, and communities. Peace Place, a collaboration between SHSS and the Broward County Library System, provides presentations and workshops for the NSU and local communities held in Broward County libraries. VOICES provides services and workshops focused on helping to prevent conflict and violence within the family.
The workshop is free and all are welcome. For more information about the workshops or services through CRS, or to arrange for this workshop to be presented in your community, please contact CRS Director Judith McKay at 954-262-3060 or send email to mckayj@nova.edu.
