SHSS Faculty, Student and Alumna Present at the National League of Cities Annual Meeting
Neil Katz, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), along with DCAR master’s student Allen Sells and DCAR master’s graduate Lauren Marx, presented two workshops for the National League of Cities Congressional City Congress in Washington D.C. The workshops were entitled, “Enhancing Council Effectiveness Part I: Understanding and Enhancing Emotional Intelligence,” and “Enhancing Council Effectiveness Part II: Managing Conflict in the Workplace.” The sessions included over 100 city and town mayors, council members and other local and appointed officials throughout the United States.
Katz teaches courses which include Negotiation Theory and Practice, Organizational Conflict Intervention, and The Reflective Practitioner: Consulting Conflict and Change in Organizational Settings with Leaders in Organizational Conflict: A Four Frame Approach.
