SHSS Faculty Presents Workshop to the Hispanic Elected Local Officials Board
Elena Bastidas, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) presented a workshop on “Communication Styles and Dealing with Differences” to the Hispanic Elected Local Officials Board in Fort Lauderdale.
A native of Ecuador, Bastidas has organized, developed and presented workshops and training in the areas of conflict management, governance, quantitative & qualitative methods, and gender studies. Her research interests include conflict analysis and resolution, economics, conservation and development, gender and development, development of appropriate technology for small farmers, livelihood systems and quantitative methods. For the last two summers she has taught Advanced Practicum courses bringing students to South America to study development and conflict management.
