SHSS Faculty Member Presents at International Studies Association Convention in San Diego
Cheryl Duckworth, Ph.D.
Cheryl Duckworth, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), presented at the International Studies Association 2012 Convention held in San Diego, Apr. 1-4. The theme of the conference was: Power, Principles and Participation in the Global Information Age.
Duckworth’s presentation was entitled: “History, Memory and Peace Education,” and was a part of the Panel, “Comparative Gendered Traumas, Memories and Narratives in Contexts of War, Conflict, and Social Change.”
Duckworth is the faculty facilitator for the Peace and Conflict Education Working Group at SHSS. The group seeks to equip and empower schools worldwide to be examples and builders of peace, and to promote activities and curricula that can help extend peace to the local communities.
