SHSS Faculty Presents on Conflict Coaching and Facilitates Research Session at ACR
Judith McKay, J.D., Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), gave a presentation at the Association for Conflict Resolution’s (ACR) Annual Conference in New Orleans. The presentation was entitled, “Conflict Coaching: Learning from the Masters.”
The presentation focused on the growth of conflict coaching as a conflict intervention process, particularly in response to organizational conflict, organizational change and workplace bullying. Conflict coaching models, practice, tips and training was addressed in an interactive format. McKay developed and teaches a graduate course in conflict coaching for students in conflict resolution and cross-disciplinary studies.
In addition, ACR asked McKay to organize and facilitate a session entitled, “Research Colloquium: What Practitioners Need to Know and Apply.” McKay asked researchers to present their research by focusing on how their research can impact and enhance practice.
