SHSS Faculty Presents at the Korean Association of Family Therapy’s Conference and other forums in Korea
Douglas Flemons, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and co-director of NSU’s Office of Suicide and Violence Prevention, travelled to South Korea during the Thanksgiving holiday to give several talks, most related to suicide. The Korean Association of Family Therapy invited Flemons to deliver the keynote address for their annual fall national conference in Seoul, entitled: “A Family Therapy Approach to Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention.” The next day he offered an all-day workshop at the conference on “Relational Suicide Assessment.” Flemons also spoke at Sangmyung National University in Seoul and Chonbuk National University in Jeonju on “Spearheading Suicide Prevention in the Workplace.” In addition, Flemons offered a four-hour workshop for the Seoul Brief Therapy Institute on “Ericksonian Hypnosis.”
