SHSS Faculty Present at Association for Conflict Resolution Family Conference in Minneapolis
Marcia Sweedler, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and Judith McKay, J.D. Ph.D., chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) recently gave presentations at the Association for Conflict Resolution’s (ACR) Annual Family Conference in Minneapolis.
Sweedler’s presentation was entitled, “The Internal Process of Mediation.” In the session she focused on her qualitative research project regarding the inner perspectives of those in mediation and included an interactive component and a video of her research.
McKay’s presentation was entitled: “A Transformation Narrative Guide to Family Mediation.” The session provided a narrative approach to mediation and guidelines for its use as a means for personal and family transformation. It was an interactive session using theory, research, and practical application.
