Honggang Yang, Ph.D., dean and professor in NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), participated in the 2014 Forum of the Council of Chinese American Deans and Presidents (CCADP) as President of the organization. The forum, which was held in Chicago October 10-1, had the theme “Fundraising and Academic Leadership.” It was co-developed to support the growth of academic leadership among members and to provide a platform to share best practices, ideas, and cultivate relationships and networking. In addition to co-facilitating the Plenary Discussion regarding bylaws, project planning, and membership drive, Yang co-facilitated the session entitled, “Developing Multidisciplinary Curriculums.”
The members of CCADP come from across the United States and share a unique set of cultural values, traits, experiences, and skills in addressing challenges and opportunities facing the U.S. higher learning. CCADP aims to contribute to the diversities in its broadest terms in the U.S. institutions of higher learning and commits to the success of its members through the organization’s mission and supportive functions.
