SHSS Alumnus Appointed Coordinator for International Student Services Programming at University of Houston-Clear Lake
Nhee Vang, M.S., 2012 graduate of the master’s program at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been named the Coordinator for International Student Services Programming in the office of Intercultural and International Student Services at the University of Houston- Clear Lake.
Vang was a student in the College Student Affairs (CSA) program which is offered through the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) at SHSS. While a student at SHSS, Vang served as the Graduate Assistant for Leadership Conference and Events in the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement in the Division of Student Affairs. Regarding his NSU experience and his graduate assistantship he said, “I chose NSU for the diversity of culture. NSU has many students from all parts of the world and it has given me the opportunity to work with international and multicultural students. The assistantship is unlike any other experience I encountered. Studying different theories and applying what we are studying with the students we work with every day is a wonderful experience. Being able to see and practice what I have learned really helps me develop to be more of a professional.”
