SHSS Alum to Discuss Challenges Facing Darfur, Mar. 8

Abubakr Elnoor, Ph.D., a graduate of the Graduate School of Humanities & Social Sciences, will be the invited speaker of APCN, an association dedicated to advancing peace in Africa through knowledge generation and dissemination. Elnoor’s presentation is entitled: “Darfur Update: Current Conditions and Post-conflict Development.” The presentation will be held on Thursday, Mar. 8 at 4:00 pm in room #2047 of the Maltz Building.

Elnoor, who is a Darfur native, will discuss the challenges facing the region’s population as they struggle to deal with the trauma and tragedy of civil war.

The event is free and open to the public.

APCN partners with the West African Research Association and the University of Indiana Press to produce the journal, African Conflict and Peacebuilding Review.

SHSS faculty member Mark Davidheiser, Ph.D.,  serves  as director of ACPN.
