SHSS Alum Joins the Faculty at Tennessee State University
Nia Imani Cantey, Ph.D., graduate of the doctoral program in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) has joined the faculty at Tennessee State University. Cantey is an associate professor of Social Work in the College of Public Service and Urban Affairs and is part of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative at the university.
In addition to her doctoral degree, Cantey holds her M.S.W. from Florida State University and served as the the Director of Home Based Services for the Department of Family & Children (DFCS) in Georgia. She has over ten years of experience in social services and has taught at Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include marginalized populations, gender studies, and conflict resolution.
