Nova Southeastern University women’s track and field team completed another week with success and individual honors. Sherrelle Jordan has been awarded her second Peach Belt Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week of the season, as published by the conference media on Tuesday, April 12.

Jordan (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) earns her second weekly accolade of the season with a PBC-record time of 13.38 in the 100 meter hurdles at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida on Saturday, April 9.  The new mark lowers her previous NCAA provisional time of 13.80 and breaks the PBC and NSU record, which she held, by 0.33 seconds.

Sherelle Jordan finished fourth in the 43-runner field behind unattached or club runners, beating runners from Miami, Harvard, Pittsburgh, Miami and Villanova among others.  Her run was the fastest 100 hurdles in all of Division II so far this season and just .08 seconds off the NCAA automatic qualifying time.

NSU men’s and women’s track and field are due to participate in the Peach Belt Conference Championships starting on Thursday, April 21 at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Jordan and the Sharks are looking forward to have their best performance of the year to make sure they are well represented at the NCAA Division II national tournament.
