Attend Sharks Volleyball & Help Raise Money for Breast Cancer, Oct. 29
The NSU volleyball team seeks to Fill the Tank and has designated the Florida Tech match on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. as this season’s “Dig Pink” match. Dig Pink is the Breast Cancer Awareness Rally being held across the country for high school and college volleyball matches during October 2010.
NSU’s Sharks wants to make history by breaking an attendance record and filling the 1,000 seat arena in the Don Taft University Center. They are asking attendees to wear pink and to donate a dollar to reach the team’s goal of $1,000.
Individual sponsors can pledge money per dig earned by the Sharks or can make a flat donation to the cause. Proceeds will be distributed among research teams focused on target therapies and molecular profiling as well as “living with cancer” organizations nationwide.
The team will be wearing pink jerseys during its match against the Panthers and the jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for the Side-Out Foundation to support the organization’s efforts to find a cure for breast cancer.
