No. 6 Sharks Rank Third In Third Release Of NCAA South Region Poll
The No. 6 Nova Southeastern University baseball team (35-15, 18-6 SSC) have been ranked third in the third NCAA South Region poll, released by the NCAA Wednesday, May 11 . The Sharks are on the cusp of the second seed in the NCAA South Region, as the committee will get together one more time to review the final results before Sunday night’s selection show.
NSU trails Tampa and West Florida in the third NCAA South Region poll, while Delta State, Lynn, and West Alabama round out the top six in the poll. On the outside looking in are West Georgia, Florida Southern, and Alabama-Huntsville. Tampa will play three games this weekend against Rollins and a sweep will do nothing but help the Sharks in the regional rankings.
The tournament begins next Thursday, May 19, starting with the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed game at 11:00 a.m. The No. 2 vs. No. 7 seed game will be the second game of the day, set to begin at 3:00 p.m., while the No. 3 vs. No. 6 seed game will begin at 7:00 p.m., concluding the opening day of the tournament. The No. 1 seed will get a bye and play the winner of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed game on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
