Share Your “Perception”—Apply to Speak at TEDxNSU 2015, Deadline Oct. 26
Everyone interprets the world in their own way, through a unique lens. Our perception impacts how we color incoming information. Our world view is constructed with satirical, scientific, religious, political, and personal thoughts and experiences. It is only through sharing different perspectives that we learn about our own biases, which color how we see the world.
TEDxNSU––whose theme this year is “Perception”––is looking for speakers with distinct perspectives and ideas that will inspire others to question the lens through which they view their world.
Hosted by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences and modeled after the TED Talks, TEDxNSU is an annual, public event featuring engaging lectures, videos, visual art, and interactive experiences.
This is the fourth year TEDxNSU has been hosted by the college under the leadership of Leanne Boucher, Ph.D.; W. Matthew Collins, Ph.D.; and Jason Gershman, Ph.D., associate professors, and James Munoz, Ph.D., assistant professor.
To apply to present your ideas at TEDxNSU 2015, complete and submit the online application by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014. The application can be found at www.fcas.nova.edu/arts/tedxnsu. All NSU students, alumni, faculty, and staff members are eligible to apply.
TEDxNSU 2015: Perception will take place from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at NSU’s Performance Theatre in the Don Taft University Center. Admission to the event is limited to 100; an application to attend will be available in early 2015 on the website.
