Pride Bite: Seven Fischler College of Education graduates named Top Black Educators of 2016 in South Florida

shark pride logoSeven alumni of the NSU Abraham S. Fischler College of  Education were recently recognized as Top Black Educators of 2016 by Legacy South Florida.

Among those recognized: Larry Rice, Ed.D., who in 2015, became the first black president of Johnson and Wales University following a distinguished career that included positions as a faculty member, dean, and interim president.

Additional FCE graduates to receive the honor are:

  • Wallace Aristide – principal, Miami Northwestern Senior High
  • Nicole Brown – Middle School Reading teacher, Deerfield Beach Middle School
  • Sacha Challenger, Ed.D. – assistant principal, North Miami Beach Senior High
  • Reginald Fox – principal, Robert Morgan Education Center
  • Angela Thomas-Dupree, Ed.D. –  principal, D.A. Dorsey Technical College
  • Veronica Williams, Ed.S.- assistant principal, Miami Jackson Senior High
