Screening of the Film Tickling Giants – Featuring Jon Stewart from the Daily Show, April 20
On Thursday, April 20, NSU will host the screening of “Tickling Giants,” a film about Bassem Youssef, dubbed “The Egyptian Jon Stewart,” and his fight to bring satire to the Middle East. “Tickling Giants” highlights the struggle for free speech and what happens to a country when power is abused.
In a country where free speech is not settled law, Bassem’s show Al Bernameg becomes as controversial as it does popular. He and his staff must endure physical threats, protests, and legal action. As Bassem attempts to remain on air, keep his staff safe, and not be arrested, he continues to let those in power know they are being held accountable. Despite increasing danger, the team at Al Bernameg employ comedy, not violence, to comment on hypocrisy in media, politics, and religion.

Tickets Information
This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for attendance
April 3: Tickets become available for NSU students, faculty, and staff. An NSU ID is required to obtain tickets.
April 10: Tickets become available to members of the public
To pick up your tickets, please stop by the office of Student Media in the Student Affairs Building, 3rd floor, Monday through Friday 9:00 am- 5:00 pm, 3rd floor or click here.
