Mark your calendar for the grand opening of the Center for Collaborative Research on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus.
The Center for Collaborative Research will house several institutes, including the newly established NSU Cell Therapy Institute, a unique collaboration with leading medical research scientists from NSU and Sweden’s world-renowned Karolinska Institutet (KI). The Institute is dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative translational biomedical research, focused on the potential of cell-based therapies to prevent, treat and cure life-threatening and debilitating diseases, which include cancer, heart disease, and disorders causing blindness.
The CCR will also house numerous wet labs, supercomputing capabilities, the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine; the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research; the Emil Buehler Research Center for Engineering, Science and Mathematics; and the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The USGS and NSU will partner on collaborative inter-disciplinary research involving greater Everglades restoration efforts, hydrology and water resources, and more.
