Save the Date – Boomers & Beyond 2012 Health & Wellness Expo

The 7th annual Boomers & Beyond 2012 health and wellness expo will be held on Sunday, Apr. 1 from 1 – 5:00 pm in the NSU Health Professions Division on NSU’s main campus.

This FREE event is for those ages 40+. Blue Cross Blue Shield Florida and Walgreens are Diamond sponsors and will be on hand with information and giveaways. NSU will offer a wide array of health screenings, including Peripheral Artery Disease, BMI, Glucose, Blood Pressure, Bone Density, Fall Risk, Foot Health, Memory, Medication, Mental Health, Skin Health, and more.

There will also be Wellness Information and Health Education Desks (including Diabetes, Eye Health, Nutrition, and Medication Management), and many other opportunities to learn about prevention and disease management. The SHINE Program will be there to educate people about health insurance matters. The Center for Hearing and Communication will provide free FTRI Amplified Telephones for those who qualify.

NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library will be registering people for library cards (free to all Broward County residents), the NSU Lifelong Learning Institute will feature a virtual classroom lecture, there will be exercise information and demonstrations, information on Poison Prevention and Awareness, and the NSU College of Pharmacy can assist you in initiating paperwork for Prescription Assistance Programs.

There will also be many giveaways and prizes for our participants.

The public is welcome to this FREE event. Come out to meet local health care experts, receive a variety of health screenings and information, and enjoy an informative and resource-packed afternoon with family and friends.
