Salute U.S. Armed Forces with Ars Flores Concert, Nov. 9

In honor of Veterans Day and in celebration of America’s servicemen and women, the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra will host a special concert at NSU featuring a selection of patriotic performances.

7:30 p.m. | Pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m.
Miniaci Performing Arts Center

Part of the college’s Resident Series, the event will include performances of “The Star Spangled Banner,” Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony, Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait and  Variations on a Shaker Melody, and many more.

On the morning of the concert, Ars Flores will also offer Music for Munchkins: a free, 30-minute mini-event geared toward children and their families.

Connecting with the Community Through Art

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences partners with Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra to further connect campus and community creative resources. NSU’s orchestra in residence is a unique professional orchestra with professional, conservatory, college, and gifted high school students performing side by side. Ars Flores gives students a rare opportunity to rehearse and perform with talented professional musicians, all of whom hold at least one degree in music.
