On Saturday, Nov. 10, NSU will host Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5k and carnival to benefit the Special Olympics of Broward County (SOBC). The event is scheduled to commence at 8:00 a.m., at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library on the main campus. President Hanbury is the team Captain for NSU 500. NSU community members are encouraged to register as a member of this team.

Proceeds from the race will be in aid of the Special Olympics Broward County (SOBC), providing funds for its mission of  providing year-round sports trainings and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
