NSU rowing and women’s basketball teams participated in the International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 21, spending three hours collecting  garbage on the beach at John U. Lloyd State Park, which houses NSU’s Oceanographic Center.

International Coastal Cleanup takes place in over 104 countries around the world, and at 13 different sites in Broward County. This is the seventh year that statistics have been kept for the Broward sites. In 2012, nearly 2,500 volunteers collected 7,171 pounds of garbage along the South Florida beaches alone. Complete Release
