Rowing Team Releases Spring Schedule
Nova Southeastern University rowing head coach Heather Barney has released the spring 2015 schedule, slated to begin on March 28 with a dual meet against local rival Barry.
The Sharks will take part in three scrimmage races from Feb. 21 to March 14 against Bates, Grand Valley State and Georgetown. All three scrimmages will take place in the Tampa Bay area. The regular season-opening race will take place March 28 against the Bucs in Miami. The Sharks hosted the Bucs last season in Hollywood, Florida and won in both the varsity-8 and varsity-4 events.
NSU will head right into championship season from there, beginning with the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship race in Sarasota, Florida from April 3-4. After competing in the Knecht Cup in West Windsor, New Jersey on April 11, NSU will return to Sarasota to defend its Sunshine State Conference Championship on April 24.
NSU will head to UCF for its invitational in Orlando, Florida on April 25 and compete in the prestigious Aberdeen Dad Vail regatta from May 8-9 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The NCAA National Championship will be held in Sacramento, California from May 29-31. NSU will look to reclaim the national title after winning it in 2013.
