Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing and College of Optometry participate in community Health & Wellness Fair with the Florida Department of Public Health
Members of the Fort Lauderdale campus Nursing Student Association from the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing in collaboration with the NSU College of Optometry participated in a community health and wellness fair hosted by the Florida Department of Public Health in Broward County. The event took place on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the ATC Arthur Ashe Jr. Campus in Fort Lauderdale and provided education to families regarding health programs and services available in the community. The NSA members, along with a student from the College of Optometry, and faculty, participated in pediatric vision screenings. Over 100 children and their families received visual screening tests. This is a great event to promote community involvement and interprofessional collaboration.
