Roche Woodard Signs With Roswell Invaders
Nova Southeastern University adds its sixth professional signing of 2015, as Roche Woodard (Sr., Tampa, Fla.) has signed a contract to play for the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos Independent League.
Arriving in Roswell, New Mexico in early July, Woodard has played in eight games and is hitting .441 with two doubles, one triple and one home run. Woodard has displayed his speed, stealing six bags in seven attempts.
“God is good and I’m extremely blessed,” said Woodard. “I will continue to use the talents I am equipped with and continue to strive for greatness.”
Roche Woodard started all 52 games for the Sharks this year, hitting leadoff and roaming centerfield. Woodard led the teams in at-bats (218), hits (76), doubles (19), triples (5) and stolen bases (14). Woodard’s combination of speed and power was a huge advantage for the Sharks’ offense in 2015.
With Woodard being the sixth 2015 professional signing, the Sharks have a new single-season program record for professional signings, trumping the 2005 class that had five.
