First Relay for Life at NSU Raises $12,500 for American Cancer Society

Teams cheer for cancer survivors who kicked off the Relay for Life at NSU with the Survivor Lap.

NSU hosted its first Relay for Life on campus on Apr. 9-10 with 18 teams from across the university taking part to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Participants camped out overnight and did laps throughout the night on a track by Gold Circle Lake. Team sites were decorated in a movie theme, and teams sold food and held games as onsite fundraisers.

The 18 teams have combined to raise more that $12,500 with additional money still being collected. Relay for Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.
