Register Now for NSU Winter 2019 Writing Pedagogy Workshops
The NSU Write from the Start Writing and Communication Center is excited to offer 5 workshops this winter for full and part-time faculty this semester focusing on innovative pedagogies and technologies. Our WCC Wednesday Workshop Series for faculty will take place Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in Alvin Sherman Library, room 430. You can also attend virtually via GoToTraining if you can’t make it in person.
We’re excited to offer the following workshops during Winter 2019:
- Creating a Peer Review Process That Really Works | February 27, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Prepare students for real-world collaboration by improving their ability to effectively read and respond to each other’s writing. Register here. - The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Commenters | March 13, 12-1 p.m., WCC – Learn how to respond effectively to student writing without doing the work for them. Register here.
- Assigning and Assessing Oral Presentations: Powerpoint and Beyond | April 3, 12-1 p.m., WCC – Explore how to assign oral presentations that allow for innovative formats students can use to present their work in and out of class while making assessment effective and efficient. Register here.
You may also be interested in our WCC Weekly Write-Ins, our weekly writing group open to faculty and graduate students that meets Monday evenings from 6-8 pm in Alvin Sherman Library, room 430, or via GoToMeeting. For more information, contact Dr. Janine Morris at jmorris2@nova.edu.
