Register for 5th Health Professions Educational Research Symposium (HPERS) Today!
Start 2013 on the right foot by registering for the 5th Health Professions Educational Research Symposium (HPERS) sponsored by the Health Profession Division’s Institute for Educational Research. The conference will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 in the Terry Building, and is open to all faculty members.
This year’s theme is “Physiological, cognitive, and social approaches to teaching and learning: What’s the evidence?” The keynote speaker, Todd Zakrajsek Ph.D., is executive director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He will address “Enhancing Student Learning: Emerging Research and Innovative Strategies.” The 1-day conference also includes 10 platform presentations, 5 interactive workshops, poster presentations, and an author’s forum. Our closing session features Mary Blackinton, PT, Ed.D., , associate director of the Hybrid Entry Level DPT Program at NSU-Tampa. Her presentation, “You can’t learn to dance sitting down” summarizes the science of motor learning as related to teaching psychomotor skills in the classroom or on the dance floor!
