Recipients announced for PFRDG & Quality of Life Awards

The 13th Annual President’s Faculty Research and Development Grant (PFRDG) and 10th Annual Quality of Life awards ceremony and reception were held in the Don Taft University Center on May 23. President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., announced 37 research projects that received PFRDG awards of up to $10,000 each for fiscal year 2013, and he recognized the dedication and innovation of the 61 faculty members and 54 students who submitted a total of 63 PFRDG proposals.

The President also commended and thanked the faculty members and Broward Community Partners who represented the Quality of Life (QOL) projects submissions, including the Outstanding Community Partner of the Year, Broward Sherriff’s Office. There were four Quality of Life awards given this year in the categories of Adults, Children and Families, Autism, Elderly Services and Foster Care.  A total of 62 investigators, including 12 students, representing 9 academic units and 23 community agencies, submitted 12 QOL proposals. Dr. Hanbury thanked them for their contributions and dedication to expanding research at NSU and in the community.
