Psychology Series to Discuss Connections Between Stress and Memory, Jan. 19
The first Winter 2012 talk in the Psychology Graduate Research Series, co-hosted by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences and NSU’s Center for Psychological Studies (CPS), will take place on Thursday, Jan. 19, from noon to 1:00 p.m., in the Parker Building, room 360. The event will include presentations from two students in the college’s M.S. in Experimental Psychology program, Brittney Tamayo and Benita Benny.
Tamayo will discuss her forthcoming research in a talk titled, “Cortisol and Mind Wandering: Two Possible Mechanisms Behind Stress-Induced Working-Memory Impairments.” Benny will present details about her upcoming study titled “Sleep, Anxiety, and Working Memory: Factors Involved in Choking Under Pressure.” Both Tamayo and Benny are working under the guidance of faculty adviser Jonathan Banks, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.
