Psychology Career Day Discusses Professional Opportunities for Graduates
Diverse career opportunities available to psychology majors was the focus of Psychology Career Day held November 7, 2015, at the Don Taft University Center.
The event was co-organized by NSU’s Psychology Club and the Broward College Central Campus Psychology Club. It was moderated by Matthew Collins, Ph.D., associate professor at the College of Psychology, who serves as faculty adviser to the Psychology Club.
Two panels each consisting of four professionals in the field were questioned by the moderator about their career paths and asked to explain how a psychology degree helped them. Panelists discussed a diverse range of professional fields and industries, including school psychology, legal psychology, substance abuse treatment, family therapy, clinical psychology, community outreach services, and human resources.
Students from NSU and Broward College were able to ask questions to the panelists, followed by an opportunity for students to mingle with the professionals.
Psychology Career Day is one of a series of events sponsored by the college and designed to educate students about career opportunities available to graduates of the psychology program.
