Pride Bite: Women’s Swimming & Diving Named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team
Nova Southeastern University women’s swimming and diving was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team for outstanding academic performance during the 2015 Fall semester.
The award is in recognition of teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The women earned a GPA of 3.24 in the fall.
“Academics is a crucial part of being a student-athlete, and this academic achievement for our women’s team is a reflection of their hard work in the classroom,” said head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron. “This team looks to excel both in and out of the water. I am proud of this group of young women who can balance their schedules day in and day out to be successful in all areas of their lives.”
The team has continued to shine academically and athletically as they are currently ranked ninth in the CSCAA/TYR Top 25 Poll for Division II. The women finished the regular season strong, taking home victory in their last regular season meet against Florida Southern
The Sharks have spent the month of January training for the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championship, which will be held on Feb. 18-21 in Orlando. The women will look to defend their 2015 Conference Championship title.
