Pride Bite: NSU’s Give Kids a Smile Day Program Receives National Award

cartoon toothThe American Dental Association (ADA) Foundation, recently selected NSU’s College of Dental Medicine’s Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS) program as one of only seven national winners of the E. “Bud” Tarrson Dental School Student Community Leadership Award. NSU’s is the only GKAS program to win the $5,000 award. The ADA Foundation Tarrson Award recognizes dental school student programs that demonstrate excellence in providing services to underserved populations within the U.S.

Additionally, NSU’s College of Dental Medicine student Jason Watts was selected to serve on the ADA Foundation’s national GKAS Advisory Committee.
