Pride Bite: NSU is a Hispanic-Serving Institution
As NSU continues its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, below are some interesting facts about our diverse university.
Nova Southeastern University is the largest private, not-for-profit institution in the United States that meets the U.S. Department of Education’s criteria as a Hispanic-serving Institution. President Obama designated September 14-20, 2015 as National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week “to acknowledge the many ways these institutions and their graduates contribute to our country.”
During the 2013-14 academic year, approximately 55 percent of NSU students represent minority groups. The largest proportion of minorities is represented among undergraduate students, with the greatest increase over the past five years in enrollment of Hispanic students.
