NSU Summer Camp Options still Available

As the song lyrics go: No more pencils, no more books…school’s out for summer!

It’s that time again – summer break! Some families will hit the road to take a family vacation a-la Clark Griswold. For others, it means heading to the local beach to spend some lazy days soaking up the sun’s rays. Yet for others, it’s when students head to summer camp.

To that end, Nova Southeastern University will be offering a wide variety of educational and athletic camps for 2015. Below is information for families interested in having their children attend an NSU summer camp (whenever possible, website links are provided for more information):

Grande Oaks Golf Academy is offering its Summer Junior Golf Camp
Hours and Dates: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., June 9 through August 21
Location: Grande Oaks Golf Club; Camp includes instruction in all facets of the game (i.e. full swing, short game and more) as well as video analysis and contests.
Cost: $1,850 full summer; $1,150 half summer; $400 weekly.

NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale offering age-appropriate camps:
Session 5 (Aug. 3-14;)

Grades 1-4:
Session 1, Design and Construction; Session 2, Nature and Art; Session 3, Music and Art; Session 4, Sculpture and Science; Session 5, Printmaking and Bookmaking
– Grades 5-8 & 9-12 (middle/high school students select one course per session):
Session 1, Character Design or Drawing and Painting: Fundamentals; Session 2, Drawing and Painting: Portraiture and the Figure, Character Design, Photography or Ceramics; Session 3, Drawing and Painting: Observational or Ceramics; Session 4, Digital Arts, Drawing and Painting: Mixed Media or Fashion Design; Session 5, Drawing and Painting: Collage
Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Mon. – Fri.
Costs: $450 per session
Location: NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale’s AutoNation Academy of Art + Design, 4 West Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale
