President’s Associates Preview SHARK Exhibition

The President’s Associates, NSU’s longest standing and fastest growing society of donors, were recently treated to a preview of the Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale’s SHARK exhibition. President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D. greeted guests, provided updates from the university and spoke about the upcoming grand opening of the NSU Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Research, which is scheduled to take place on Sep. 27.

In attendance was guest curator Richard Ellis who is one of America’s leading marine conservationists, as well as an acclaimed wildlife artist and author. Also present were the Chief Executive Officers of the Save Our Seas Foundation, Peter Verhoog and Georgina Wiersma, as well as SHARK exhibition sponsors Maria Burns, Joseph Cloutier, and Sarah Summy from Hyatt Regency Pier 66. Other special guests included Craig Grant, and Abraham S. Fischler, Ed.D., founder of the President’s Associates.

Through their gifts of $1,000 or more to the annual campaign, the President’s Associates have an immediate impact on the education environment throughout the university. This group of dedicated alumni, faculty, staff and friends are strengthening the foundation for Nova Southeastern University’s continued growth and success.
