President Emeritus Abe Fischler celebrates his 50th anniversary with NSU

Another NSU milestone! On August 1, President Emeritus Abraham S. Fischler, Ed.D., celebrated his 50th anniversary of continuous and outstanding service to NSU.

Aside from being NSU’s president from 1970-1992, Dr. Fischler also served as a medic in the U.S. Navy, taught at multiple universities worldwide, and  has published numerous articles, publications, and research studies related to science education and advanced teaching methods. His belief that the “student is the classroom” has made an impact locally and nationally, and has earned him  recognition from numerous organizations for his commitment and dedication to education. Even after 50 years, he still contributes to the field of education at NSU and with involvement in multiple community organizations.
