Preseason SSC Volleyball Poll Released
The Nova Southeastern University volleyball team has been selected 8th in the 2015 Sunshine State Conference preseason poll, voted on by the coaches and released by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The Sharks will be led by second-year head coach Jen King and will bring back a majority of its lineup from last season after graduating only one player. Two-time All-SSC honoree Sydney Cook (Sr., Miami, Fla.) returns for her final campaign to lead one of the most experienced teams in the league alongside fellow seniors Dana Holger (Lino Lakes, Minn.) and Caitlin Donahue (Miami, Fla.).
Defending NCAA National Champions Tampa received eight first-place votes to lead the poll. Florida Southern received the other first place poll to finish second with 57 points, followed by Saint Leo (44), Rollins (36) and Lynn (35). Barry (32) was just three points shy of their South Florida rivals in sixth, while Eckerd placed seventh with 25 points. The Sharks earned 23 points in the poll to finish ahead of ninth-place Florida Tech at eight points.
