Preseason SSC Men’s Soccer Poll Released
The Nova Southeastern University men’s soccer team has been selected 7th in the 2015 Sunshine State Conference preseason poll, voted on by the coaches and released by the league office Monday afternoon.
The Sharks, led by Giuseppe DePalo in his 17th season at NSU, are looking to build off a late run last year that placed the Sharks in the SSC Semifinals. NSU advanced in last year’s tournament at Rollins on penalty kicks and gave No. 4 Lynn a strong challenge before the Fighting Knights went on to win the NCAA National Championship.
The Sharks bring back their young core from last year’s side and welcome several key newcomers looking to upset the balance of the SSC.
Lynn was picked to successfully defend its conference championship with 62 points. Saint Leo (57) and Florida Tech (46) followed, each earning one first-place vote. Rollins (44) claimed first before a tight preseason middle table of Tampa (27), Barry (26) and NSU (22) took spots 5-7. Eckerd and Florida Southern tied in the eighth spot with 15 points.
Below is the full preseason poll, while the SSC’s season outlook video is in the frame above.
