Phi Delta Chi Supports Individuals with Down Syndrome at 3-2-1 Dance
NSU’s College of Pharmacy’s (NSU COP) Beta Lambda Chapter of the professional pharmacy fraternity Phi Delta Chi (PDC) participated in the 3-2-1 Dance 2014 charity event on Feb. 15 at Café Iguana in Pembroke Pines. Guests celebrated a belated Valentine’s Day and raised funds for the Broward County Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization.
Pharmacist Gordon Garland of Memorial Regional Hospital, NSU pharmacy student Natasha Decal and several PDC members joined together to help promote the occasion, provide flowers, greet and register guests, assist in running a food and beverage service, engage participants of all ages through the fun spirit of dancing, and raise money through T-shirt sales for the Broward County Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization.
This marks the fourth straight year that NSU COP’s PDC chapter has been a part of this wonderful event. As 3-2-1 Dance continues to grow year after year, the brothers of PDC are proud to support the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) sponsored We’re More Alike than Different public awareness campaign. The vision of the NDSC is a world with equal rights and opportunities for people with Down syndrome.
The PDC students further noted their appreciation for the presence of NSU COP faculty members Sandra Benavides Pharm.D., and Devada Singh-Franco, Pharm.D.
